This privacy policy applies to Edifier software (hereinafter "app") developed and operated by Beijing Edifier Technology Co., Ltd..
2. How we collect and use your personal information
2.1 Personal information and sensitive personal information
Personal information refers to various information recorded electronically or in other ways, which can be used separately or can be combined with other information to identify a specific natural person or to reflect the activities of a specific natural person.
Sensitive personal information refers to personal information that, once disclosed, illegally provided or misused, may harm personal safety and property safety and easily cause personal reputation damage, physical and mental health injury or discriminatory treatment.
2.2 How we collect and use your personal information
2.2.1 Connect app to Edifier products
2.2.1.1 Bluetooth permission
Bluetooth permission is necessary for using the app. Only when this permission is enabled can the app be connected to Edifier Bluetooth products through Bluetooth. We promise that Bluetooth permission will only be used for this app related functions and will not be used for other purposes.
2.2.1.2 Location information permission
Location information permission is also necessary for using the app. As required by mobile phone systems, location information permission must be enabled for the app to search for nearby Bluetooth products. Only when this permission is enabled can the app search for nearby Edifier Bluetooth products. We promise that the location information permission will only be used for this app related functions and will not be used for other purposes.
2.2.1.3 Background location permission
Background location permission is not necessary, which is used for Android phones to search for nearby Edifier Bluetooth products after adding desktop widgets of the Edifier Connect app to it. We promise that the background location permission will only be used for this app related functions and will not be used for other purposes.
2.2.2 Sync server data
2.2.2.1 Network access permission
Network access permission is necessary for using the app. It is used for logging in to account and downloading Edifier product information (product images, models and manuals). We promise that the network access permission will only be used for this app related functions and will not be used for other purposes.
2.2.2.2 Access and change data permission
Access and change data permission is necessary for using the app. It is used for creating a local database to record server cache data, cache web images, and access local photo albums (customizing music playing interface background, accessing local albums content). We promise that the access and change data permission will only be used for this app related functions and will not be used for other purposes.
2.2.3 SDK Google of the third-party
In order to count up users' behavior in the app and their geographical distribution to improve our services, we have linked to SDK of Google Analytics of the third-party. For your information security, we have made an agreement on data security and confidentiality with the third-party SDK service provider. This company will strictly abide by our data privacy and security requirements. We will not share your personal identity information with it unless we have obtained your consent. In order for you to better understand data types and purposes of Google Analytics and how it protect your personal information, you can log in to Google Analytics to know the "Privacy Policy" of the Google Analytics.
3. How we use cookies and similar technologies
We may provide you with a more personalized experience by means of cookies:
3.1 Interface skin of the app
As there are lots of Edifier Bluetooth products supporting EDIFIER ConneX App and some have their own skins, we record skin codes of users' connected products by means of cookie similar technologies.
3.2 Obtain the preferred language of the current app
The mobile phone system will store the preferred language of the app in a cookie or in a storage area of similar technologies, and the app will obtain language information for internationalization processing.
4. How we share, transfer, publicly disclose your personal information
4.1 Share
We will not share your personal information with any companies, organizations and individuals other than ourselves, but the following circumstances are excluded:
(1)When we have obtained your prior express authorization or consent;
(2)When we share your personal information in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, administrative orders from government or judicial case requirements;
(3)When it is for protecting interests and properties of users or public, we need to provide your personal information to third parities within the law;
(4)Your personal information may be shared among our affiliated companies. We only share necessary personal information and such sharing is also subject to this privacy policy. If the affiliated companies need to change usage permissions of personal information, we will obtain your consent again.
4.2 Transfer
We will not transfer your personal information to any companies, organizations and individuals, but the following circumstances are excluded:
(1)When we have obtained your express consent;
(2)When personal information and other company assets are inherited together because of merger, acquisition or bankruptcy liquidation of company, we will require the new juridical person holding your personal information to continue to be bound by this privacy policy, otherwise we will require this juridical person to obtain authorization from you again.
4.3 Publicly disclose
We will only publicly disclose your personal information in the following circumstances:
(1)When we have obtained your express consent;
(2)When we disclose your personal information in accordance with laws (e.g. mandatory requirements of laws, legal procedures, litigation or government authorities).
5. How we protect your personal information
We or our partners have taken security protection actions in accordance with the industry standards to protect your personal information, so as to prevent unauthorized usage, disclosure, modification or loss of data. We will take all proper and feasible actions to protect your personal information. For example, we will guarantee the confidentiality of data by means of encryption technologies; we will prevent malicious attacks on data by means of the trusted protection mechanisms; we will guarantee that only the authorized personnel can access personal information by making an access control mechanism; and we will strengthen employees' awareness of the importance of protecting personal information by organizing the security and privacy protection training.
Personal information collected and generated at home will be stored in the People's Republic of China, and no data will be out of the country.
Although we have taken the above proper and effective actions and abided by standards stipulated by relevant laws to protect your personal information, please understand that no information security measures can be entirely flawless in the internet industry due to technical limitations and various malicious means possibly existed. We will do our best to guarantee the security of personal information provided by you.
Due to factors beyond our control, you know and understand there may be problems with the systems and communication networks that you use for getting access to our services. Therefore, it is best for you to take active actions to protect the security of your personal information, including but not limited to using complicated password, regularly modifying password, and never disclosing your account password and relevant personal information to others.
6. Your Rights
6.1 Access and change your personal information
Unless otherwise specified by laws and regulations, you have the right to access your personal information. When you consider any your personal information is incorrect, you can contact us by sending an email to manbu@edifier.com. You shall provide us with sufficient information to verify your identity when we address your request. And we will address your request for free within a proper period stipulated by law after verifying your identity.
6.2 Delete your personal information
In the following circumstances, you can require us to delete personal information by email and provide us with sufficient information to verify your identity:
(1)If our treatment of personal information is not in accordance with laws and regulations;
(2)If we collect and use your personal information without your consent;
(3)If our treatment of personal information is not in accordance with our agreement with you;
(4)If you no longer use our products or services, or you have cancelled your account;
(5)If we no longer provide products or services to you.
If agree to your request, we will also inform entities obtaining your personal information from us of deleting information simultaneously.
After you have deleted information from our service, we may not immediately delete the corresponding information in the backup system, but will delete these information when for backup update.
6.3 Withdraw consent
By submitting a request you can also withdraw your consent to the collection, use or disclosure of your personal information controlled by us. You can implement the withdrawal by sending an email to manbu@edifier.com. We will address within a proper period after receiving your request, and will no longer collect, use or disclose your personal information thereafter based on your request.
6.4 Cancel account
You can apply for cancelling your account by contacting us as set forth under the "Contact Us" section below. Within 7 working days of submitting the cancellation application, we will verify your cancellation behavior to let you understand that this process is irreversible, and will cancel your account and delete your personal information after obtaining your confirmation, unless otherwise specified by laws and regulations.
7. How we address personal information of minors
We believe that parents or guardians are responsible for supervising the children's use of our products or services. Generally, we do not directly provide services to minors, nor do we use children's personal information for marketing purposes.
If you are a parent or a guardian, and believe that a minor has submitted personal information to the Edifier, you can contact us by sending email to manbu@edifier.com to ensure that such personal information will be deleted immediately.
8. How we transfer your personal information worldwide
At present we will not transfer or store your personal information across borders. If there are information required to be transferred or stored out of the country, we will inform you of purposes, receivers, security protection measures and security risks of such information, and obtain your consent.
9. How we update this privacy policy
Please understand that our privacy policy will be constantly updated. Without your express consent, we will not reduce your rights in compliance with this privacy policy. Any changes to this privacy policy will be released on this page. And much more obvious notifications will be provided for major changes. The major changes specified in this privacy policy include:
(1)major changes of our service mode, such as purposes of addressing personal information, types of personal information to be addressed, usage methods of personal information, etc.;
(2)major changes of our ownership structure, organizational structure, etc., for example, the owner is changed on account of business adjustments, bankruptcy mergers and others;
(3)changes of primary objects to whom personal information will be shared, transferred or publicly disclosed;
(4)major changes of your rights to address personal information and the way of performing them;
(5)changes of our department responsible for addressing personal information security, contact information and complaint channels;
(6)when the personal information security influence assessment report indicates there is a high risk existed.
