The innovative and world-leading audio brand Edifier has again picked up awards at the prestigious Visual Grand Prix (VGP) 2024 SUMMER in Japan.
The STAX SPIRIT S5 and upcoming STAX SPIRIT S10 received the top accolade of VGP 2024 SUMMER Special Prize Winner and VGP 2024 SUMMER Gold Award Winner

The Japanese VGP Awards are well known as the “Oscar in the Audio Industry”. They are the largest, most authoritative audio-visual awards in Asia. It is held on an annual-basis by Ongen Publishing Co. Ltd., one of the most prominent publishing companies in Japan with an expertise in audio/visual related devices and state-of-art technologies. Launched in 1987, the awards bring together respected reviews from dozens of countries, all to offer an authoritative reference guide for ordinary consumers looking to make informed purchases. The VGPs are often recognized as the highest authority award in Asia’s audio-visual industry and mark an important recognition for Edifier’s ground-breaking work in the industry.

The Edifier STAX SPIRIT S5 was a Gold Award and Special Prize Winner. The STAX SPIRIT S5 are planar magnetic headphones. With their unique way of operation, planar magnetic drivers can represent a superior audio experience with rich details and impressive transient response. With solid innovation and advanced features, the STAX SPIRIT S5 packs upgraded planar magnetic drivers and the latest Bluetooth® V5.4 technology in a compact and portable form-factor. The 2μm thin film and 2nd gen EqualMass™ wiring technology generate a performance comparable to legendary electrostatic headphones.
An upcoming addition to the STAX range is the STAX SPIRIT S10. These are the first-ever planar magnetic technology in TWS noise-canceling earbuds and they deliver unmatched, lossless sound compared to conventional drivers. The S10 wins a VGP Gold Award and was recognized as a Special Prize Winner. The STAX SPIRIT S10 features 12mm modularized planar magnetic drivers that guarantee a uniform, consistent audio performance and the possibility to be used for active noise cancellation. The Planar diaphragm is built on a 2μm polymer substrate with a total thickness of only 10μm – this ensures a good transient response for detailed sound reproduction. The STAX SPIRIT S10 Planar Magnetic Earbuds are equipped with Qualcomm® QCC5181 Bluetooth® audio SoCs, it ensures a stable connection and low power consumption, as well as improved call quality and environmental noise suppression.
Another VGP Summer Gold Award Winner was the D32. With a hand-made wooden housing, the speaker is acoustically treated to reduce excess resonance and distortion, whilst dual bass reflex ports enhance lows without overpowering mids and highs. Fitted with two 1" silk dome tweeters and one 4" long-throw mid-low driver, the speaker is capable of producing a frequency response of between 52Hz - 40kHz and has earned the prestigious Hi-Res Audio and Hi-Res Audio Wireless certifications.
The final award in the VGP Gold Award section was the QS30 Tabletop Bluetooth Speaker. The QS30 features dual 2'' full-range drivers, bass reflex ports, and the captivating TempoAbyss technology which gives stunning light effects similar to a layer of light ribbons cascading from a mirror.
Recognized in the 2024 SUMMER Award category were the Edifier W830NB and the Comfo Run headphones. The Edifier W830NB over-ear headphones feature upgraded hybrid digital noise-cancelling technology which achieves a noise reduction of up to -45dB, an 18% increase compared to the previous generation. With a built-in large capacity battery and a low power consumption chipset, the headset offers an impressive 94 hours of continuous music playback with ANC off. Featuring support for LDAC high-definition decoding for Hi-Res Wireless audio which transmits at a transfer rate of 990kbps and offers three times the music detail of standard Bluetooth codes.
The Edifier Comfo Run are open-ear wireless air conduction sports headphones, The Open-ear design ensures comfort and minimizes sound leakage whilst the 16.2mm dynamic drivers deliver smooth highs and deep bass. Featuring Bluetooth 5.3 technology, hands-free calling, and 17-hour playtime, the Comfo Run were the recipient of a VGP Summer Award.
